iPads, macOS, and iPhone Vision Pro have been announced as the finalists in the selection process.

Every year, the iPhone presents Design Awards to the apps and games that it believes truly stand out. The 2023 winners have been announced, and it’s a prestigious accolade. The shortlist for the 2024 awards has now been revealed.

The comprehensive list, sourced from Neowin, is divided into seven categories: Delight and Fun, Inclusivity, Innovation, Interaction, Social Impact, Visuals and Graphics, and Spatial Computing. The winners will be announced at WWDC 2024, starting on June 10th.

Here are some high-quality apps to check out. In the Delight and Fun category, we have Dudel Draw for drawing, Bears Gratitude for journaling, and Rooms for exploring 3D spaces. The games in this section include the action-packed racer What The Car?, the leisurely NYT Games, and the charming adventure game Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

For inclusivity, we have Oko to assist pedestrians, Complete Anatomy 2024 to explore the wonders of the human body, and Tiimo, a calendar app designed for neurodivergent individuals. In this category, the featured games include the meditative “Unpacking,” the puzzle game “Quadline,” and the vibrant “Crayola Adventures.”

In the Innovation category, the apps list includes Copilot for managing finances, SmartGym for fitness assistance, and Procreate Dreams for digital art. For games, there’s Call of Duty: Warzone, Lost in Play with a graphic novel style, and the board game adaptation Wavelength.

INTERACT AND IMPACT

In terms of interaction, the Procreate Dreams app is making a comeback. Additionally, we are excited about the Arc Search app, poised to compete with Google (a platform we greatly admire), and the Crouton app designed to efficiently manage recipes. Furthermore, the games highlighted in this context include the “engagingly eerie” Little Nightmares, the music rhythm game Rytmos, and Finity, a thought-provoking matching game.

The Social Impact finalists include How We Feel, Ahead: Emotions Coach, and Gentler Streak Fitness Tracker, which are all focused on enhancing overall well-being. The games category has the visual novel The Wreck, city sim Cityscapes: Sim Builder, and the bedtime experience The Bear.

The finalists for Visuals and Graphics are Sunlitt, which tracks the sun, Meditate, which tracks your meditations, and Rooms. In the games category, we have Death Stranding Director’s Cut, which looks fantastic even on mobile, Lies of P, an imaginative and immersive game, and Honkai: Star Rail, a turn-based combat game.

Remember this:

The last category, Spatial Computing, includes apps like Sky Guide for stargazing, the NBA app for basketball, and Djay for making music. The games selected are Synth Riders, described as an “effervescent rhythm game”, as well as the peaceful puzzlers Blackbox and Loóna.
